
The Ghana Police in the late hours of Tuesday June 28, 2022, have in a Press Release issued by Chief Superintendent of Police and Director, Public Affairs, Grace Ansah-Akrofi, reiterated that, the organisers of the 'ARISE GHANA DEMONSTRATION' will be arrested and put before court for the attacks and the damage to public property, in line with the provisions of Section 3 of the Public Order Act, (Act 491).
The Police in the release also updated the General Public on the number of demonstrators they have arrested for participating in violent attacks on the Police and some members of the Public including school children during the Demonstration in Accra today.
According to the Police, a total number of twenty nine (29) Demonstrators have being arrested and available video footages of the event in their custudy are being reviewed and all other persons who will be identified for taking part in the attacks as well as inciting the violence will be arrested and brought to face justice.
They further urged the general public to disregard the calculated falsehood and misinformation being peddled by the organisers and their cohorts and treat them with the contempt they deserve for the images and footages of the event even speak for themselves.
the police concluded by saying that, though some men of the service have been injured by the demonstrators, they remain committed and professionally measured in discharge of their constitutional mandate of enforcing law and order in the country.
